FDFA New Board of Directors 2011 – Upcoming Board Meeting
The new board will be meeting live this February 2nd, 2011 in Mississauga, ON for a one day meeting to discuss the launch of the new year and identify its strategic objectives. Some of the other discussions will include the FDFA yearly budget, committee compositions and mandates, member benefits, annual membership dues, government relations issues and the national marketing campaign.
As per 2010, the FDFA Committee's have been officially dissolved and the board will begin the process of reformulating our committee's and mandates.
Call for Expressions of Interest: If any of our operator or supplier members would like to participate on any of the committee's listed in the draft Standing Committee Document (see link below), please contact Laurie Karson via email at lkarson@fdfa.ca, or call her office directly at 613-233-1946.
Your names will be put forward to the FDFA Board for consideration when they are reviewing committee compositions. The FDFA will also proactively reach out to certain members to consider sitting on specific committee's due to their previous committee experience, or based on their specific competencies.

Once the board has identified the Committee's that will stand for 2011, they will then finalize the committee composition and mandates. When this process has been completed, the FDFA will inform all of our members via the May Communiqué of the committee's, mandates, etc. The FDFA Board may choose to disband a committee, or identify a new committee. These decisions would be based on the strategic objectives that the board determines for 2011.
The Board would once again like to thank all of our Committee Chairs and members from 2009/2010 for their outstanding contributions and dedication to the industry.
The Board is looking forward to a very productive and successful year ahead. They are excited to implement change where required, and ensure continuity where effective procedures are currently in place.
